OPTICON

Optical Infrared Co-ordination Network for Astronomy

The Optical Infrared Co-ordination Network for Astronomy (OPTICON) is a transnational access programme funding collaborative use of telescope facilities across Europe. You can apply through OPTICON to use our instruments when their announcement of opportunity is given. The project is supported by the European Commission under the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7).

User groups from EU Member States and Associated States meeting the EC eligibility criteria, awarded time via the common OPTICON TAC, receive free access to our instruments plus scientific and technical support to carry out the observations.

Eligible users are notified before the observing run is scheduled. Applications from new users, young researchers, and users from countries with no similar research infrastructures are strongly encouraged.
